Tea Trip

Chinese tea is world renowned. By joining us on this trip you will learn how tea is made from picking tea leaves to making your own tea

Have you always been interested in Chinese Culture but never had the chance to come?

Are you perhaps a student who is studying Chinese at school and hoping to enhance

your chinese speaking, listening and writing abilities through the assistance of a local

Chinese teacher? Well The Study Express is honoured to present you the opportunity

you have always been looking for. We have just established an exciting program

targeting students from Australia (Melbourne and Sydney) and Canada to come down to

Shanghai for a couple of weeks and personally experience authentic Chinese culture that

has lasted thousands of years. This exchange program will be filled with fun. Besides

attending school with locals, you will also have the chance to explore the beautiful

attractions of this busy city and taste delicious Chinese cuisines.

Suitable Age Group: 9-16 years old - open to all students who learn Chinese or are interested in Chinese culture

Accommodation: Students can choose whether they prefer to live in school boarding houses or with local homestays. However, we highly recommend your children to consider living with locals as this will help them learn Chinese faster and have a true taste of Chinese living and have a more enriched understanding of the daily lives of Chinese people. The Study Express will try our best to facilitate your children with a suitable homestay, one that attends the same school as well as of the same gender and age. The host family will also provide your child with three meals a day and take them out on weekend to explore the hidden places of Shanghai.

Program Date: Summer holidays (2~4 weeks)

About the School:

We will organise regular sessions for students to talk with locals, both improving their Chinese listening abilities as well as encouraging them to speak more.

Attractions:

During the weekend, we will organise activities to visit famous Shanghai attractions, either within the city centre or to rural places. If time allows, we aim to spend a few days outside of Shanghai to local cities such as Suzhou or Hangzhou. These cities will pull students away from the busy, rapidly advancing lifestyles of Shanghai and deposit them in the calm, tranquilising city of Suzhou where they can have self-reflection time and enjoy the refreshing scenery.
